An epidemic of a virulent form of pneumonic influenza in the Leeton irrigation area is causing grave concern. The Government has bepn asked to send medical and nursing assistance.

The Minister of Health has sent nurses to the Leeto-n irrigation area on the Victorian border where pneumonic influenza is raging. Additional nurses volnteered from Melbourne, where influenza is also had. Four deaths have occurred in the staff of one shop. There have been nine deaths at Leeton hut- none during the last few days.
