(Received Nov. 19, 7.15 p.m.) • PARIS, Nov. 18, Cardinal Dubois has issued an appeal to members of the Action Francaise residing in the diocese, explaining that instructions referring to marriages had been modified in order to prevent a repetition of recent scenes in Paris churches, when members of the Action Francaise were being married. Such marriages .in future would not be celebrated in church or sacristry, but only at the bride’s house in the presence of the local curate or vicar. Members were not- allowed to belong to Catholic societies or subscribe thereto. The Cardinal points out that the “Action Francaise” newspaper continues to be sold at the Church doors, and has ordered the clergv to inform their congregations at each mass that they are forbidden to sell, buy, circulate or read the newspaper.
