Rain caused twenty minutes’ delay in the resumption of the match 7)etiveen England and an Australian eleven. The weather was bleak, with a strong southerly .and light showers, which did liot interrupt play. , Tate played with dash, his' favorite shot being past point. He hit five fours, batting 81 minutes. Geary made a quiet 33 and was caught at second slip. Hooker’s bowling was the best, his length being excellent. Bettington turned the ball well. Nothling, who did not bowl to-day was also splendid. The fielding was good. ‘ In the Australian Eleven’s second innings Richardson was streaky, anc ] gave chances-jo Geary and Mead in the slips before his dismissal, Larwood being the unlucky howler. Andrews’ 25 was a good display. Harris, though getting runs, was not impressive. At tea, the-score was two • Tickets' for-105.- -w -• Harris batted 139 minutes for SG, hitting five fours. He was never bright, and White badly beat him with the ball which brought about his downfall. When 2he was given “not out” to an appeal for a catch at the wickets. An appeal regarding the light, which was bad all day, was upheld, and stumps were drawn at -5.15 p.m. The wicket was easy throughout. The attendance was; 5000 and the receipts were £379. ENGLAND

THE FIB ST TEST W ARNER CHOOSES ENGLISH TEAM MEAD OR TYLDESLEY NOT INCLUDED united Press Assn, by El. Tel. Copyright -Australian Press Association ) LONDON. Nov. IS. “Plum” Warner, in the Morning Post, says that at least one preeminent batsman will have to be omitted from the Brisbane test. Should White. Freeman, and Duckworth play, there would then he something of a tail, because the final batting would be Tate, Larwood and the three mentioned. Hobbs, Sutcliffe. Hammond. Hendrou, Jardine, and Chapman are certainties. Ames, instead of Duckworth, would strengthen the tail. “My imaginary eleven does not include Mtead or Tyldesley. There is a possibility that a bowler will be omitted, entrusting the attack to Tate and Larwood, and White and Hammond. In any case, Brisbane is a good place to win the toss”, he adds.
