The six shearers in the gang handled nearly eOo sheep in the morning, and as fast as it came off the sheep’s back the wool was bustled off to the classing benches, pressed and baled on lorries for the twen-ty-five mile trip to' Gisborne. Here it was; dumped in the G.S.F.M. store, and quickly passed through and despatched on lighters to the Port Darwin in the roadstead, th© loading on the Home steamer being completed by nigh trail.
