Several hundred .children in the Orphanage at Datum aged 7. to TO years, went to bed hungry. The following day a Soviet official lectured the orphans. explaining that famine necessitated praying to God for food and water. The children at first were incredulous, and after being foodless, for another day many prayed. After thirty-six hours’ starvation, all had prayed fruitlessly.
