The Nobel prize for literature for 1927 has been awarded to Henri Burgson, and the 192 S prize to Sigrid Undset, tha Norwegian woman novelist.—A. and N.Z.C.A. Sir Harry Lauder and party have cabled to 'the effect that they are coming to Russell in January to indulge in big game fishing. Arrangements have been made for the party’s headquarters at club house at Otehei Bay, Unipukapuka Island. Lord Cusiiendun, acting Roreign Secretary, is in his bed with a feverish cold.
