Inquiries were conducted yesterday by the Coroner into the Rochdale tragedy of November 1. 'Thomas Stanway, a local tobacconist, related the- homicidal conyer >at<ons of Garnet Alexander Robb, who Idled four mambers of the Pulaur lioum’he'd and then vonmt t*vd suicide Robb, just before the 'ragedy, talked of razors and rifles in a most eccentric way. The coroner commented that if Stanway had communicated Robb’s suicidal tendon• 4-is to the police it was quite possible 'that the Palmer family might. have been alive to-day. Dr. Egan, who knew Robb at Nimbin, said that he bad tr-eated Robb for delusions in 1927. He had then feared that people were injuring and prosecuting him. The Coroner returned a verdict that the vict'ms had died from bullet wounds inflicted by Robb, who had committed suicide in the same manner, while mentally* deranged. AN UNSIGNED ARTICLE. The woman reported yesterday to be missing from her home at Paddington was discovered in Long Bay gaol. She had stolen a few trifling articles of clothing for her children on Friday night, and was arrested. She was so ashamed that she would, not give her correct name or any address. She could have had sentence suspended if she entered a bond, but declined to do so, and had to go to gaol. .
