OPERA HOUSE

“CHANG” I TO-NIGHT,

Tho efforts which the motion picture industry have made during the past 25 years towards developing n medium through, which thought may ba transmitted' by visualisation, have been consummated in “Chang.” prod»ced by Paramount. “Chang,” which opens to-night at tho Opera House, is more than a stoi*y; it is more than a travelogue; it is life. Without the semblance of a careful* !y-r(instructed plot, it stands a true ami convincing record of primitive life with its struggles .and privatons, its sympathies and its loves. Ne\jer r before has a picture of this sort been presented in such a forceful manner; it marks a new era. During the past two years there has been a growing interest in the literary world in non-lietion books, because of the interesting manner in wlYch they are being presented to tin. public! These books are )'eud avidly by thousands who at one. time limited their reading to novels and short stories. People are craving facts, rathor than fiction. The same tendency is being inaugurated in the nioUou picture field . through “Chang.” This picture presents realities, not make-believe situations. The filming of tho picture was done in Siam! The “shots” were of real life, with no specially-devised sets or the usual accoutrements of the studio.
