WOMAN'S DEATH.
SENSATIONAL (FEATURESATi 5 INQUEST. . ' SISTER REFUSES TO ANSWER QUESTION. (Preßß Association.) AUCKLAND, Nov. 2. There were sensational features about the inquest which opened to day into the death of Freda Ellei Clark, who was found in. a state of Collapse in a nursing home yesterday and who died before the doctor’s arrival. The only witness, Miss Doris Dannefeard, deceased’s sister, saiid Freda Clark had been employed as a clerk in an office in Te Aroha. A... N Chief Detective Hammond: mien did you last see her alive ? Witness: I refuse to answer. The coroner, Mr F. K. Hunt, S>.M.: Where did your sister live?;— L refuse to answer. Witness, on being informed by Mr Hunt tflat she must answer, waa proceeding, when counsel for the relatives said the coroner was carryin; things too far, only identification evi donee being necessary at this ’ stage Mr Hunt replied that he was tin best judge and would not adjourn the inquest until he thought fit. Witness then stated that she was not present when her sister died. , Th'fc 'inquest was ■ adjourned, 'sine die, after Chief Detective Hammonc had remarked that it was hard tc secure any particulars.
