“BABY MINE” AND “THREE SINNERS”
Screen entertainment, in its finest form will be screened at both the matinee, and to-night at the Palace. “Babv Mine” the sequel to “Rookies” ancl “Three Sinners” being the productions. Karl Dane and George K. Arthur, who proved themselves the greatest comedy team in screen history when they starred in ‘"Rookies” will appear again in “Baby Mine”. “Baby Mine” was originally a phenonenaly successiiil stage comedy, and in making the film version Metr o-Goldwy n-AI ayer ha ve added innumerable funny situations to this great cyclone of laughs. . The story- opens in a “College of Vertebral Manipulation” with the bulky Oswald (Dane), giving mast of his time to .his studies, while Jimmy (played by Arthur), who is wiser in the ways* of the world than his size indicates gives mosjt of his time to a girl. In order to marry this girl, Jimmy arranges a marriage between his big fellow-student and his sweetheart’s lanky neglected sister. But when Oswald sees his wife lie swears he has been shanghied. and amusing complications ensue, Charlotte Greenwood, a musical comedy star, makes a memorable screen debut in “Baby Mine”. "v STiet read her own death notice in the morning papers! _ Enjoying a few forbidden hours with her lover, Baronesjs Gerda Wallentin prepares to slip hack into her ■ respected role 6f.,..,sboiety. /woman— only to discover that she is supposed to-be dead. Reappearance will, betray the fact that she has been unfaithful to her husband. That is the opening of Pola Negri’.latest starring picture for Paramount “Three Sinners” with Tullio Oarminati, Paul Lukas and Olga Baclanova in supporting roles. The storv mounts swiftly to a smashing climax, in which Gerda finds peace and love after years, of unhappiness and storm—brought on her own head by a moment’s weakness-.
