The executive of the Amalgamated Union of Building Trade Workers decided that Mr Winston Churchill is ineligible because he does not intend to earn his living .as a bricklayer. LONDON, Nov. 1. Professing to take, the executive’s action seriously, Mr Winston Churchill refuses to accept expulsion from the Bricklayers’ Union. He asks for reconsideration. He says he was properly admitted to membership, and expulsion would endanger the position of fellow members, who are entitled to an assurance that, they will not be turned out for political reasons. Mr Churchill, in n letter, suggests that'it would be injurious t0,,-the inforests of the union if doubt were thrown on the validity of the. signature and authority of responsible officers.

Mr. Churchill’s ' election to a branch of the union was a sequel to his vacation hobby of assisting m the bricklaying work on a building be was erecting. Subsequent opposition to his membership was raised and the question was deferred to the executive.
