Williams at' Makaraka last night, “that my old friend Sir Joseph Yard has become too ill to carry on his campaign. Everyone, ' whether opposed to his policy or not, _ will fee! the greatest sympathy for him in his time of trouble. Sir Joseph has been a fine man and very prominent in working for the good of tho country. We all admit that though, perhaps, we do not agree with all his contentions. We cannot lie other than sorry that lie has been thus overtaken by illness and so nrevented from talc irig an active part in the campaign.
