THE WEATHER
(Pi ess Association.' WELLINGTON. Nor. 1. The Dominion Meteorologist's summary and forecast are as follows.— The. northern cyclone is moving eastwards. There is • a weak anticyclone centred south of New' Zealand and a fresh depression situated over south-east Australia.
Moderate to strong Southerly winds south of Westport and Akaroa still, with gale force places, hut decreasing; elsewhere moderate to strong easterly and later northerly winds. Seas heavy between East Cape and Kaikoura, and rough weather in New Zealand waters. Moderate to strong southerly winds and rather rough seas in the eastern Tasman Scai later winds veering to northerly in the southern portion. Fair to cloudy weather at first in Westland and Otago, hut shortly brooming unsettled with showers; elsewhere* still cold, unsettled and squally with showers in most districts, and heavy falls on the East Const between East Cape and Akaroa, hut conditions gradually moderating.
