TALL TALE.

Am. COLE At AN SPINS A GOOD ELECTION STORY. AIR. LYSNAR AND THE UNEAIPLOYED. “What, has Air. Lysnar ever done for the working man"” asked Air. D. AY. Coleman at his C.tv han meeting. Air. Coleman said that the member for Gisborne had stated in the House two sessions , ago that there was any amount or work offering in rhe country, but tho men didn’t want it. There wore many unemployed in Gisborne at' the time, so he (Air. Coleman) wired Air. Lysnar to indicate where the work was but received no reply. On his return to Gisborne, he had discussed the matter with Air. Lysnar, who could give no derails of the work offering,- but 1 said there was plenty, but ihe farmers hadn't the money to employ men (Laughter). Finally, Air. Lysnar suggested that men should be prepared to work for half wages and tucker for the next three months, and then he had advised that a list be prepared of men willing to w- ik for tucker only n.nd advertise for employers, who would take on men on these terms. (Laughter). • Air. Coleman went on to allege that Air. Lysnar then said he would take on two men at his station, ana he had communicated with the Labor officer for the men telling him he was leaving in an hour. The bureau sent the men over, for no doubt Air. Lysnar had expected that men could not be found in so short a time, end this would give him an opportunity of saying that the men didn't want work. One of the men- sent to Air. Lysnar had told him (the sneaker) that, when Air. Lysnar asked him how long he had been unemp'oyed, he had replied, “Three mouths.” “Oh you’d be too soft. Aly manager is a pretty hard man and you would not be able to stand np to the work,” Air. Lysnar had said, the speaker alleged. (Laughter.) Air. Lysnar, he added, . had never been any good to the working people and never would be. (Applause).
