A meeting of the committee of the Gisborne Amateur Athletic and Harrier Club was held last evening, when Mr. W. Jenkins presided over the following members: A. C. Swan, E. C. Sutcliffe, J. Mercer, A. Hart. C. A. Remnant, A. Thorpe, E. W. Forrest, A. S. Parker, and J. N. Fraser (hon. sec.).
Further officials -for Thursday’s meeting were elected as follows; Marksmen, Messrs. E. Rice, E. C. Sutcliffe and V. A. Remnant; call stewards, Messrs. A. Hart and E. W. Forrest ; gate-keeper, Mr. T. Sfliale. New members were elected as follow: Andrew Desmond, K. L. Westmoreland, R .J. Morrison, C. W. Trotman, J. Crawford, R. Aislabie, S. Shanks, G. M. Tiffin, A. A. Lockett, G. Mills, E. Harding, G. Hartley, E. Gregg, and J. H. Thompson. In future nominations for all club events will be received by Mr. A. Hart, of the Star Cycle Works, Peel street. The Ormond Sports Club forwarded a donation of £2 2s.—lt was resolved that a letter of thanks be forwarded to the club*. ' - . The same body forwarded a suggested programme for a sports meeting on January 2.—This was approved and a permit granted. It. was decided to inaugurate an 880 medley teams relay haudicap> competition, and that four silver stars be procured as .permanent trophies, to be held by the winning team until lost to the challengers; entrance fee to be 2s a team. All challenges, together with personnel of team, ar© to be handed to secretary not later than 5 p.m. each Monday. .* It was also decided that lady members of the club could be included in the teams..
