LLOYD GEORGE AT RACES. WOULDN’T BET. LONDON. Oct. IS. Mr. Lloyd George witnessed his first horse race when he saw Arctic Star, on which Lady Curzon, partowner, is reported to have won a small fortune, defeat the Irish-train-ed Blancona, owned by an American, and the French-owned Accalmie, in the Cesarewitclv. to-day. Although inundated with tips since iie announced his intention of going to the Cesarewitch while the guest of' Lord St. David’s at Landwade Hall, Lloyd George was not a bettor, despite the bookmakers’ blandishments and repeated offers to show him- the tricks of the trade. The former Prime Minister rivalled'the horses as a spectacle for the racegoers) and was always the centre of a crowd when he witnessed the parade and when in the weighing room and the stables. He departed amid cries of “Good old Lloyd George.”
