FIGHT CHALLENGE IN VICTORIAN ASSEMBLY.
“I’LL KNOCK YOUR HEAD OFF’
MELBOURNE. Oct'. 18.
Angry scenes, in which there were challenges to fight, occurred in the Legislative Assembly this afternoon after the Premier (Mr Hogan) had made a- reply to a statement that Communists had been asked to support- the Labor Party. When Mr. Hogan sat down, Mr. Greenwood (Nat.) called out. , “You have not said one word to disprove my statements.” Mr. McKenzie (Lab.): He has proved what a lovely liar you are! Mr. Greenwood (heatedly) : , Yon contemptible cad. Mr. McKenzie: You say that outside and I’ll knock your head off. A few moments later Mr. Greenwood left the Chamber, and ‘was followed by Mr. McKenzie. Outside Mr. McKenzie overtook Mr. Greenwood, and challenged him to repeat what he had said in tho House.
There was an angry exchange of words, but other members Intervened, and Mr. McKenzie was led away.
