The Dominion Meteorologist’s summary and forecast is as follow: A ridge of relatively high pressure has been covering New Zealand with depressions to the east and west. The one to the westward has advanced slowly over the Tasman Sea. and is now moving on to the Dominion. Moderate to strong northerly winds increasing to gale force at places, backing to westerlies and inter to south-westerlies. Seas rough on the west const and rising off shore south of Castlepo'nt; elsewhere moderate. Strong north-west winds to .rale in the eastern Tasman Sea. backing to south-westerly with rough seas. Weather becoming generally cloudy and unsettled with rain at first in the western districts, and later extending to other paris. Mild temperatures but a cool change following.
