mary and forecast are as follow: There lias been little change in the position of the extensive depiession which has been covering New Zealand during the past three clays. A fresh depression is situated over south-east Australia, and the centre of the intervening anti-cyclone will probably pass north of the Dominion.
Moderate to strong south to southwest winds of gale force at places.

East Cape and Akaroa: elsewhere rough in New Zealand waters. Strong south-west winds in the- eastern Tasman, veering to westerly and northerly with rough seas. AA eather cold, unsettled avid showery generally, with heavy falls on the east, coast
between East Cape and Kaikoura. Some snow on the highlands of Tnt_ South Island. An improvement of brief duration is probable soon.
