After the Trades Union Congress General Council liad discussed Gladd.ng’s dismissal, the secretary, Mr. Citrine, made a statement that the council had decided, to ask the Government for a copy of any orders issued in relation to Communist activities, and the grounds on '-inch they were based. It was stated that the Government side of the question would receive full consideration. Several members of the council were strongly of the opinion that avowed’ Communists had no right to expect to lold State positions.
