It was stated at the inquest at Guildford (Surrey) on George Cqoper, 45, a caravan' dweller, that-the man was found dead on the shaft's of his caravan with a. wound, in his throat arid' a knife on the ground. Two large dogs were guarding the body and refused to allow the;police to approach nearer than 20 yards. Finally they had to be shot. .On Cooper’s body was found £36 10s in notes and £l3 in j gold/ The,-corondr returned a verdict of suicide, "remarking that " there was nothing to show : the state of Cooper’s mind. ? . *■ : 'V- *•/" /*'£’ ■
