At about 6 o’clock last evening a sad fatality occurred at- lioto-o-rangi on the farm of John Davidson, about live miles fiom Cambridge, when Rudolph Adderiev, 43, a single man, was found drowned in a deep drain at the hack of the farm. About 5 o clock the deceased went to round up the cows'for milking. As he did not return in a reasonable time, Mr. Davidson instituted a search and discovered the body of the deceased lying in about 2ft. of water, life being extinct. ' Artificial respiration was unsuccessful. When the body was examined a bruise, was observed on the forehead. It is supposed that the deceased slipped when crossing the drain, struck his head on the opposite side, and then fell back into the water. SUDDEN DEATH UNDER CHLOROFORM.
