Carnival 'Week this' year isees a greater variety than usual of the latest goods from the world’s leading markets on view in Gisborne, many being seen here for the first time. In honor of the occasion most of the more progressive firms in the town are making special displays at their premises and, in addition,- some attractive displays will also' bo seen at tho A. and P. Show to-day. GARS TO SUIT ALL POCKETS. ORMOND’S DISPLAY. VATJXHA'LL, BTJIOK, OLDSMOBTLE AND CHEVROLET. Foremost amongst the trade exhibits at this year’s Show is Messrs. Ormond’s Motors stand, on which are exhibited the following popular makes of cars: Vnuxlinll, Ituiek. Oldsmobilc and Chevrolet. Tho most outstanding oar shown this year is the Vauxhall 20-60 li.p. Bedford Saloon. This ear is painted a rich maroon, is very comfortably upholstered, and the finish in every way is what one would expect from a high-class English factory. j»Sinco introduction of the 20-60|y auxMl early in this year, quite If largo fnfrfiFer have been sold ffi plif M New Zealand, fniiS their ponJlqptw is w&i-jdwbmhcm 4 s 1 jo jj|i api iJL sit 'n ni - vers'ary J 8 jocks imlnfiK *#w 25 years triSince tfi cM fofniiftiop? of the Buick Motor j'Coiipaly and the latest model will swpriscrevon those thousands of motorists who have been familiar in the pfst until Buick’s sturdy construction and -wonderful performance. ® Oldsmohile Cars arc represented by Roadster and Sedan Models. Tfef*. big appeal with a Chevrolet Car is its economical operation which has been proved by thouSsvnds of users all over New Zealand. Chevrolet brings economical transport to families avlio cannot afford the higher-priced cans, but- in buying a Chevrolet they are not buying a car which is in appearance a light oar or a cheap car, for Chevrolet gives the purchaser everything that is incorporated in the more costly cars, the only difference being Chevrolet Motor Car is a smaller car. A great trouble has been taken by Ormond’s Motors staff to present their cars to the public in as attractive a manner as possible, and the lay-out of this year’s exhibit would give credit to any agricultural show in New Zealand. £. USE OVENDEN’S PAINTS.

With the arrival of spring many housewives are busy spring cleaning the inside of the house and changing the whole atmosphere of tho rooms from dullness to _ brightness. But just as faded and dirty curtains spoil the whole appearance'of any room, so does a rusty and paintless roof make an otherwise spotless house look shabby and untidy. In past years, those desirous of pamtmg their homes had to use the imported brands of paint which wore, at times, very unsatisfactory, besides being too expensive!. Now, however, the local manufacturers, after years of experimenting; can produce a paint which is not only equal to tho imported brands, hut is in some cases superior, and above all, ! can be sold at a much cheaper® pride.
