A committee meeting of the .Gisborne Amateur Athletic and Harrier Club' was. held on Alonday evening. Present -. Alessrs W. M. Jenkins (chairman). J. M. Fraser (hon. see.), It. Algie/'A. Hart, E. €. StitcHffe, A. C. Swan, »G. A. Remnant, A. Tliorpe, J. Mercer, P. Fulton. A letter was received from All* J. tunes accepting the position of vice-president of the club, ami enelosmg a donation of £1 Is. It was decided to send a letter of thanks fh Mr. Lines.
The Te Knraka Sports Club wrote enclosing a programme for their sports on New Year’s Day. It was mentioned that all entry fees had been reduced to 1 s.—Approved, conditionally bn receiving fee. A letter was received from the Wellington Amateur Club enquiring a.=mita!<bv date for the Eteveneanx Cup challenge relay race.—The matioi* was held over in the meantime. T he.-ii Wf 11 : ngt o n cp ntre notified that the - reinstatement of C. IT. Hewitt had been approved. The Wairoa Club enquired as to the conditions relating to the Fteveneaux Cun competition, expressing r , W ish that they he permitted a challenge. Hopes of matching Miss Norma Wilson and Miss Stewart fWairoa) were also referred to. —The matter was held over in the meantime.
The secretary was instructed to call a special general meeting on November o to discuss. the question of making the club an incorporated body. . . . T. and L. Morrow were elected new members. Reference was made to kindness extended to Miss Norma Wilson by VI r. and Mrs. Amos, manager and chaperone to the N.Z. Olympic team, and Air. AY. Whitfield, for conveying Miss Wilson from Wellington and Mr. and Airs. 'W. Wilson 1° mcot their daughter.—lt was decided that letters of thanks Be forwarded. Messrs Sutcliffe. Jenkins and Fraser were appointed a* sub-oommitten to wait on the Power Board for expert advice on lighting the Reserve for night meetings. Aiming to foster sport among hoys and girls attending schools, it was decided that they he admitted as free ''members during their attendnnce at school •
