The Dominion Meteorologist’s summary and forecast is as ' follows: A vigorous depression is advancing over the Tasman Sea, and is likely to affect the Dominion to-morrow. Moderate to strong westerly winds veering to northerly and freshening to gale force at many places, later hacking to south-westerly; seas rough south of Cape Egmont and rising shortly elsewhere. Strong northerly winds to gales .backing to west and south-westerly in the eastern Tasman Sea, jivith rough to heavy seas. Weathei* fair to fine at first,’ but rain setting in soon on the. West Coast of the South Island, and unsettled squally conditions extending to most -districts, with general rain developing; much mist or fog probable on the coasts. Warm temperatures at first, but a. cool change later.
