The Greycliffe disaster, when the ferry steamer sank in collision with the 'Tahiti in Sydney harbor on November 3, 1927, is recalled by the announcement that only thirteen days are left in which compensation claims may be lodged. Mussolini set in motion electric pumps to drain the historic Lake Nemi and thus bring to light Caligula’s galleys. The water is now pouring from the lake and it will take two or three months to drain the 140 feet necessary to cause the galleys to emerge, as springs are continually replenishing the waters.
