The Dominion Meteorologist’s summary and forecast is as follow: A deep depression is covering the New Zealand area and another equally d6ep one situated over eastern Australia is advancing on to the Tasman Sea. Moderate to strong winds between south-west and west, later -veering to northerly and increasing to gale force in many places; seas rough on the west coast and rising elsewhere in New Zealand waters. Moderate to strong west winds veering to northwest and increasing to gales in the eastern Tasman Sea, with rough seas. Weather unsettled and showery in districts with a westerly aspect; elsewhere fair at first but soon becoming unsettled with rain developing m most parts, and some heavy falls with thunder probable in places. Warm temperatures.
