MAN WHO HAS MADE MONEY
United Press Assn, by El. Tel. Copyright (Australian Press Association.) (Received Oct. 21, 5.5 p.m.)
SYDNEY* Oct. 21.
George Bosch, a wealthy importer, who recently made gifts of £220,000 to Sydney University, sailed yesterday on a holiday cruise to Java, Japan and China. Interviewed before his departure, ho said his doctrine was that a man who amassed wealth from business was no more' than a trustee of that money and he was under a moral obligation to use it in some worthy cause.
"I sincerely trust”, he said, "that what I have done will prompt 'other men of wealth to do likewise. Hundreds of men in Sydney are doing nothing but holding on to property while the value rises. There are some men who derive Immense satisfaction merely from a sense of possession and accumulation of money. I am not one of these. I have received literally hundreds of letters asking for money from all manner of Arsons. My friends are saying: ‘You must get away from it alt’ and I am going. I shall attempt to deal with genuine cases on the voyage."
