Moderate to strong northerly winds of gale force at many places, backing to westerlies and, later, to soutli,westerly. Seas rough south of. Capo Egmont and rising elsewhere in New Zealand waters. Strong north-west winds to gales backing to south-west, with generally rough seas , in the eastern Tasman Sea. The weather will be cloudy, unsettled and squally with general ram developing, many heavy falls, and some snowi on the high lands of the South Island; mild temperatures at first, but a cold change sotting in from the south soon.
