Five insurgent leaders were executed upon special orders from Mexico City. The prisoners were betrayed by a comrade who, after being" captured a month ago, renounced the others. This, however, failed to save his life, for he was himselt executed. The officer directing the firing squad blamed, the clergy for fostering tho insurrection.
