Putting on the table his feet adorned by one of the captive’s shoes and leggings, an Arab chief demanded a million pesetas each and camels and rifles, and tho liberation of all Arab prisoners in Mauritania, Sudan and Guineax, in return freeing the French aviators, Rein and Seure. The French Administrator, M. ArviliaciiSneros, whittled down the terms and struck a bargain fourths release of the men in exchange for nine Arab prisoners.
