Tlits Dominion Meteorologist's iorecast is- as follows: A very slight anti-cyclone is crossing New Zealand, but a very intense depression is centred in the northwest Tasman Sea and the westerly type of weather still prevails. .Moderate to strong west to north winds, freshening again shortly with gales at many places; seas rough in Cook Strait and on the west of the South Island, becoming rather rough in oll’-shore waters; elsewhere strong north-westerly winds to gales anu rough seas m the eastern Tasman. Weather temporarily fair to hue at first, but with a renewaf of unsettled conditions later. Ham probable in most districts, and further heavy falls in the western districts of the South Island.
