POVERTY BAY ASSOCIATION. A meeting of the executive, of the Poverty Bay Hockey Association was held last evening, Mr. A. Cassin presiding over a good attendance of delegates. The chairman reported that the committee appointed to conduct the Haapu Rose Bowl competition had made enquiries from the Coast team re their entry, but unfortunately there is no chance of any team in that district taking-part as they are participating in a competition at Wai-o-matatini. The competition wall therefore, rest with a game between country teams from Te Karaka, l’ulia and Matawai. The match, Ivia Toa v. High School which was set down for decision last week, and was the finish of the ladies’ Thursday competition, ended iin a draw, one goal each, and it was decided to replay the game next Thursday, the teams having expressed their willingness to play out and decide the w'inner. The selectors wero asked to name 18 lady players by next meeting to t'o into training for .the match with Ruahine for the Lady Carroll Shield match. . Some discussion ensued regarding club colors, and the referees were asked to report which teams were .appearing in other than club colors, so that tlie Association can enforce tho rule governing same. The draw for this week's matches is as follows : THURSDAY - —Men's Games,— Waerenga-a-hika v. Defence, at 2 p.m-, on No. 1 ground; referees, Messrs. Piesse and Henderson. Foresters A v. Kiwi, at 2 p.m., on No. 2 ground; rclerees, Messrs. Groig and Sim. High School v. Foresters B, at 3 p.m.”No. 2 ground; reierees, Messrs Henderson and Fitzmaurice. —Ladies. — High School v. Kia Toa, on No. 1 ground, at 3 p.m.; referees, Messrs Oracle and Smale. SATURD AY. —Ladies. — Kia Toa v. Technical College (Napier), at 1.45 p.m.; referees, Messrs. Cassiii and Cameron.
