TOATOA’S HIGH CHEESE GRADING AVERAGE.
(Special to the Times.) j , OPOTIKI. Aug. 13. The manager of the Toatoa Dairy Factory on the Motu road received word from the Agricultural Department that the Toatoa cheese averaged a grading ,of 02.583 points fo: the year ending July 3. This average is second for the Port of Auckland. The company is being congratulated by the liepartment on the result. OPOTIKI GOLF CLUB The Opotiki Golf Club played :> men’s medal handicap on Saturday, combined with the first qualifying round for the championship. The host cards returned were: H. Jessup 93gross, 23 handicap. 70 net; Bridger 97, 26. 71; Upton, 97, 23, 71; W. A. Todd 81, 9, 72; Kemp 85. 13 72; Bunkall 86. 14, 72; Hodgson 92, 20, 72. The’best gross scores were: Todd 81, Morris 82, KemD So Bunkall 86. RIFLE SHOOTING A return match between the Opotiki and Rangitaiki rifle clubs fired at Opotiki on Saturday, seven shota at 200 yards, and ten at 500 yards, ended in a victory for Opotiki by 33 points. Following are the scores: Opotiki.—-Jobhin 31, 48; Hollar cl 30,46; Sydenham 30, 45; Stevenson 28,' 46; F. Matchitt 28, 46; Lam bert 28, 45; Sanders 29. 43; R. C. Butler 24, 41; W. A.
