JANUARY IMPORTS' DECREASE. ADVANCE IN EXPORTS. (Aust. and N.Z. Press Assn.) LONDON, Feb. 12. British trade returns for January show that the imports decreased £13,188,000, and. the exports increased £4,321,000, and re-exports £445,coo. The principal decreases in imports were grain and flour £1,025,000, coal £5,212,000; raw Cotton £3,406,C(;3; iron and steel, and the manufactures thereof £2,014,000 and oils and fats £1.517,000. The exports of coal decreased £1.216,000. The increases in imports included dutiable food and drink £l',Coo,ooo. The increases in exports included iron and steel and manufactures thereof ££65,030; machinery_ £BIO,030; cotton yarns and manufactures thereof £760.000; woollen yarns £521,000; vehicles £894,000.
