A very pretty and popular wedding was solemnised at The First Church, rrankton, on .December 29. Ihe church was prettily decorated by Mrs Dempster, and Mr. Lymburn presided at the organ. The contracting parties were Andrew, eldest .son of Mr. J. Paterson, Vialou Street, Hamilton, and the late Mr. D. S. Waters in, hlunth and Mary (Molly) second daughter o' Mr. and Mrs. F. L. Dempsey. Gisbuvne The Pev. L ; awrence Rogers officiated. The bride who was given away by Mr. ,J. M. Griffiths tn the absence of her lather, was charmingly frothed in a gown of ivory georgette snacked with gold beads, the panel being pleated and finished with gold tinsel insertion. The court train which ieli giaceiully lrom the shoulders was oi gold embossed ivory georgette lined with ivory crepe-de-cliine and (l::ished with gold, tinsel true lovers’ knot. A double wreath of orange blossom buds held in place an entlir adored scalloped veil. A shoal oi Christinas lilies and asparagus fern completed a dainty toilette.
The bridesmaid, Miss Janet Paterson (sister of the bridegroom) was daintily attired in a becoming frock of cyclamen georgette with .-ilver sequin trimming and wore a ioronet ol silver leaves and cyclamen small Hewers. She carried a shower bouquet of carnations, sweet peas and maidenhair.
Tim bridegroom was .ttended l>v Mr. Mervyu Buckland as best man. I lie bride’s mother wore a smart fiock of navy and beige crepe do chine trimmed with, oriental trimming, and black crinoline, nab trimmed with orchids. Her -ouquet was of apricot and dame flowers.
The bridegroom’s mother wore a smart irocJc of black :-ilk m.irocaiu relieved with champagne georgette and black satin hat with pos*T of small flowers.' Her bouquet was of apricot and mauve flowers. Mrs. Downey, Hokianga, sister of the bride was m periwinkle blue taffeta trimmed with ochre lace and rose ribbon with hat to tone. Miss Christine: Paterson, ((sister of the bridegroom), was attired in salmon pink crepe de chine stencilled in saxe and pink with shoulder posy and hat to match. Mrs. Griffiths wore dove grey georgette smocked and pin tucked with grey, crinoline hat relieved with blue.
After the ceremony a deception was held at the Centreway Tea Poems where the guests were entertained and the usual toasts were honored. Mr. and Mrs. Paterson later left for Whangarei and Auckland, the bride travelling in a pretty frock of grey and saxe bine crepe' de chine, saxe coat trimmed with leopard skin and saxo crinoline hat.
