The discussion regarding the cinematograph film entitled “Dawn” continues. Practically all the newspapers strongly approve of the line taken by the Foreign Secretary. The Daily News declares that “no delicacy of treatment can remove a film centred on Nurse Caveil’s death from the class of war films, and m defining that conviction so finely and so decisively -Sir Austen has performed a public service.’’ The Manchester Guardian, in welcoming Sir A, Chamberlains letter, says: “He expresses with admirable strength and simplicity the. feelings of all who care lor a better understanding between the nations. It is authoritatively stated that no Government action was taken in regard to the Cavcll film. It was not before Cabinet in any form and Sir A. Chamberlain’s view was entirely his owrn. The picture was shown privately .before the author, producer, and principal actors.
