GOVERNMENT TO PUT ON 2000 MEN IN NORTH ISLAND
1000 EXTRA TO BE UTILISED IN SOUTH ISLAND

WELLINGTON, Feb. 13.,
The Prime Minister stated to-day that the Government has made arrangements to take on 2000 unemployed in the public works of the North Island. Although the South Island figures aro not yet completed, it has been decided to take on 1000 men there.
