VESSELS IN PORT. —At the Wharves.— Huanui, a.s. —ln the Roadstead.— Diomede, HALS. Laburnum, H.M.S. Veronica, H.M.S. Wakakura, H.M.S. NOTES —Union S.S. Co. of N.Z. Ltd.— The Waimea is expected to leave Auckland to-day with cargo for Gisborne and Napier. The Kahika, with southern cargo, now at Napier, is expected to leave that port this evening for Gisborne, where she is duo to-morrow morning. On completion of discharge here the vessel sails for Lyttelton thence Dunedin to load again for Napier and Gisborne, via the usual ports.. —Richardson and Co, Ltd. —

The Koutunui sailed yesterday with horses for Napier. The vessel returns here tomorrow and loads wool for the Hawke’s Bay port. The Putiki left Gisborne yesterday for Westport to load coal for tins port. The Awahou leaves Auckland today for Tokomaru Bay and Gisbcnn . The vessel arrives here on Friday and sails the same evening on the return trip north. The Parera is expected to leave Wellington to-day for Napier anti Gisborne The vessel 'arrives here on Friday and. on completion of discharge, returns to Wellington. Tile Pakura arrived at Lyttelton last night with sheep. The vessel is due back here Thursday to loan horses for Timaru. —G.S.F.M. and M. Coy., Ltd.— The Tiroa arrives here on Thursday from Auckland, via Hick’s Bay. and sails the same evening on the return trip north. —Clare and Clare.— The Huanui arrives here to-day from Tolaga Bay, and sails later for Wellington. —DePelicbet, McLeod and Coy.— The- Gunbar left Auckland yesterday for Gisborne. The vessel arrives here on Thursday and sails later for Napier. VISITORS TO THE ROADSTEAD. H.M.S. Veronica, which has been on the New Zealand station since 1920, was commissioned in March, 1924, for further service on the station. H.M.S. Laburnum arrived iu New Zealand waters from England in March, 1922, and was recommissioned in March, 1924. These two sloops arc maintained by the British Government, their duties consisting mainly of policing the South Pacific island's within the limits of the. New Zealand station. \ H.M.S. Veronica and H.M.S. Lamain armaments are two 4in. guns, while the Wakakura has one 4in. gum. NEW LINER FOR AUSTRALIANNEW ZEALAND SERVICE. (Sun Gables.) LONDON. Feb. 12. Denny Brothers, of Dumbarton, are constructing an 8300-ton motor ship for the Australian Steamship Co., to be completed early in 1925. It will have a shelter deck and speed of 11 knots. The vessel is intended for the Australian and N«w Zealand service.
