CHRISTCHURCH, Jan. 4. At the; Addington market average entries .were forwarded to-day, and values generally showed a weakening on the pre-Xmas sale. Store Sheep.— I There, was a fair entry, and a good all-round demand, particularly for forward wethers and young ewes. "Forward; 4 and 6-th crossbred wethers -made 24s 3d to 25; medium 4 and 6-tli wethers 22s to 245: good 2-tli wethers 21s 6d to 235; inferior 2-th wethers I> s Gd to 20s; 4, ,6 and 8-fcli ewes 27s Gd to 28s 3d; 2-tli ewes 25s to 26s Id; 2-th woolly halihred; ewes to 38s. 9d ; forward m.a., assorted lambs. 24s Id to 24s 6d; medium lambs 22s lOd. Fat Lanibs.—There was a small entry of 1,300. Values came back to the export basis, which this week ate down, a fraction,i.e., 9-id per lb. for 36lbs. and under. Exporters were enabled to buy comfortably within their schedule. Extra prime lambs made to 34s 4d ; prime 27s 6d to 31is ; medium lambs 24s 6d* to 275; light 22s 9d to 24s Id. - . 1 Fat Cattle.—Five Hundred were entered, more than the requirements Tor a midsummer sale. For the small pioportion of good-steer and heifer oeer, there was scarcely so brisk a sale, and other classes were down by 15,s a head. There was some bujmg of porkers for export Choppers made £2 5s to £3 15s: light baconers £2 los to £3; heavy baconers £3 os to £3 Bs—average price per lb. 4,cl to SKI; light porkers 33s to 40s; heavy porkers. 42s to oOs average per lb. sfd to 7d. 1 Store Pigs—There was a large entry, and cautious competition due to a’ decline in the prices of fat. pigs. Sheep—There was an average yarding, there being little or no change in values.
