NABIEK, Jan. Johnnie Lcckiri, N.Z'. feather champion, Dunedin, met and defeated Duke Maddox, „cx-ehampion, Hastings, 8.13 J, here to-night-. The fight ended in the nihth round when Maddox’s left, ankle gave out and the referee, awarded thd-light to Leokie. On the second ten rounder, Tommy Griffiths, Dunedin', 8.5, drew with If. Tavlor., Auckland, 8.0, i n a splendid fight. As a fight it was the closest seen for a long time, and was clean and scientific, both men displaying perfect foot and head work. ——
