FIREMEN, WOULD NOT TAKE VESSEL OUT. SIXTEEN ARRESTS. SYDNEY, Dec. 9. Sixteen firemen from the steamer Kona were arrested and chargee with refusing to take the vessel to sea. The dispute arose over the owners refusing a demand of the men when the steamer entered port that extra hands be employed to attend the boilers—U.P. A. (Received Dec. 9, 9.30 p.m.) 'fhe Rena, dispute has been settled and the men remanded for a week under a proviso that no action lie taken against them if the steamer sailed meantime with a lull crew.
