FOREST AFLAME.
HOUSES AND COUNTRY CLUB BURNED. FIVE THOUSAND ACRES NEAR LOS ANGELES ABLAZE. CALL FOR FIRE-FIGHTERS. (Received Dec. 5, 9.15 p.m.) NEW YORK, Dec. 5. Los Angeles reports that the forestand brush fires in the Tima and Tujunga: canyons destroyed twenty-five residences and a Country Club, and burned more than five thousand acres of country. A call for additional fire lighters was sent out when the neighboring cities of Glendale and Burbank were threatened, and 890 men are now working to extinguish the blaze.— A.N.Z.C.A.
