PORTUGAL WANTS FINANCIAL HELP. SOVIET AGAINST POISON GAS IN WAR, (Received Dec. 5, 1 a.m.) GENEVA, Dec. 5. The Portuguese Government, in a message to the League, states it is unable to stabilise currency or restore its finances‘on a sound basis without help. It asks the Council to consider the question of a loan. GENEVA, Dec. 4. Lifcvinoff announces that he has signed the Soviet’s adhesion to a .protocol condemning the wartime use of poisonous asphyxiating gas.—A. and N.Z.C.A.
