The. death occurred at Timaru on ounduy night of Air John Hardcasde, 80, a vef-erun journalist, and at ■■mo time editor of the South Canterbury Times and also of the Timaru Herald. Deceased was 43 years on the latter paper as a reporter, subeditor and editor. —P.A.
