PALMERSTON N., May 0. Mavis Sehlerike, 19, was admitted to hospital last night in a serious condition from head injuries, the result of a collision with a motor van while riding a bicycle near the War Memorial. A serious accident occurred on the railway line between Rukuliia and Ohaupo at about 5 o’clock last night, when a train from Frnnkton struck n jigger on which were two men. The conditions wore nustv, and the- men failed to notice the approaching train. Jack Hamilton, 25, sustained a compound fracture ol the right leg and injuries to bis hand and head, while Clias. Sleeth, 45, had a fracture, possibly a compound one, of the right leg. . . The injured men were placed m tlio guard’s van of a Te Kuiti train and eonvovrd to Frankton. Their condition is fair, but both are undergoing ■operations in the V aikato hospital this morning. Who pa vs the bill for the injured worker?
