CELEBRATIONS extended

now TO OCCUPY TWO DAYS

A deputation from the “Back to Gisborne” committee waited on the Jubilee executive yesterday afternoon and made strong representations that the jubilee celebrations should extend over two days.

The executive later announced that they had decided to revert to the original plan and hold celebrations on two days, May 11 and 12. At a meeting of the “Back to Gisborne” committee last evening, many representatives of local women’s organisations attended and it was finally decided to form a further commitree to be termed the Women’s Welcome committee. This will include representatives from all women’s organisationS.
