DON’T DO IT. CHARLESTON SUMMONSES. COUNTRY DANCE STIR. YOUNG, N.S.W. March 25. Charleston-kickers beware: In the little township of Mounteagle, ten miles from Young, has started the first crusade of prosecution. Summonses are out for two youths who danced it there. At a dance at Monteagle the youths introduced the Charleston side-kicks, and kept it up, in spite of the remonstrances of the master of ceremonies and other officials. Rememberiug a riot recently at a neighboring township because someone tried’ to stop tlie Charleston, those in charge of the dance feared to take sterner measures. They telephoned the police at Young, and sent a car to bring a. constable. , By the time the policeman arrived the youths had disappeared, but that was not enough. Summonses have been issued against them.
BEDROOM WEDDING. MINISTER INSISTED. PARKES, N.S.W. March 25. Although ill in bed, suffering from severe .bronchitis, the Rev. S. Bostock insisted on officiating at the marriage of two members of his congregation. The parties and their witnesses assembled in the Minister’s bedroom, and though his voice was barely audible at times, tlie ceremony was performed without a hitch.
