HEIR’S SEARCH FOR ENGLISH GIRL HE MUST MARRY.
‘JAZZ-MAD” BAN
Clarence E. Harvey must find and wed a bride before May 1 next or forfeit for ever his claim to a fortune of £1,400,000 left by liis uncle, a Chicago estate dealer. It is stipulated that he must marry a Miss Helen Gaynor, who is declared to be the daughter of a former sweetheart of the uncle. For months the lawyers of the dead man have been searchirg for the girl and one of the partners in the firm is in England to make inquiries. It is understood that Mr. Harvey, senr., who made the will, was native of Bradford, and until recently the parents of the girl lived at Huddersfield. The girl was said to he employed in a London hank a year ago, but all inquiries in this direction have failed. Among other conditions laid down are:— The girl must not he a widow. She must not break off an existing engagement. She must not he “dance or jazz mad.” She must not marry without the consent of her mother. She must he a teetotaller. She must produce the testimony of two persons of repute that she has not in the past five ’years flirted or trifled with*tlie affections of any man. It is also stipulated that if _ two executors are satisfied that within, five years of marriage the husband causes the wife pain by neglecting her ho forfeits the legacy and the whole of the capital specified in the will passes to her.
