CLYDE ENGINEERING STRIKE
DEADLOCK REACHED. (Received April 5. 7.45 p.m.) SYDNEY, April 5. A deadlock has been reached in connection with the Giyde engineering strike, the management refusing the shop committee’s request for a conference, stating that they had no quarrell with the men. but refused to treat with the committee when no dispute existed. Meanwhile the men are losing £I4OO daily in wages. It is expected the men will now endeavor to secure the intervention of the Trades and Labor Council.—U.P.A-
